Lash Extensions Questions
Are eyelash extensions safe?
Yes, when applied by a trained professional, lash extensions are safe, and should not damage your natural lashes.
How long do eyelash extensions last?
Lash extensions typically last 4-6 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle, lifestyle, and aftercare. Regular lash refills (every 2-3 weeks) are recommended to maintain the fullness.
What is lash shedding, and is it normal?
Lash shedding is part of the natural growth cycle, where old lashes fall out to make room for new growth. It’s normal to lose a few extensions daily, and you will need a lash refill every 2-3 weeks to maintain the fullness.
What is the difference between classic, and volume lashes?
Classic extensions use a 1-on-1 technique which is one extension per natural lash, giving a natural look.
Natural Volume (or Hybrid) is the combination of classic and volume lashes. Which adds volume but also maintains a natural look.
Volume lashes, including Extra (4-6d), Ultra (10d), and Mega (15d), use multiple lightweight lashes per natural lash to create a fluffy, dense, and dramatic look. Each level offers progressively more fullness and drama, with Mega being the most voluminous.
How should I prepare for my eyelash extension appointment?
- Arrive on time with clean, makeup-free eyes.
- Avoid using oils, lotions, or mascara on your lashes before the appointment.
- Show our lash artist photos of your preferred styles to ensure they understand your desired look.
Can I get eyelash extensions if I have sensitive eyes?
Yes, we offer eyelash extensions using sensitive glue for clients with sensitive eyes. Be sure to inform your lash artist beforehand, and we’ll make accommodations.

Can I wear mascara after a keratin lash lift?
Of course, you can wear mascara after 24 hours of the lash lifts and tint procedure.

Can I combine brow lamination, waxing, and tinting?
Yes, you can combine these services for the best results! Many clients opt for lamination followed by tinting to achieve a fuller, more polished look.

What types of facials do you offer?
At EMME, we offer two signature facial experiences:

How often should I get a facial?
We recommend a facial every 3-5 weeks for best results. Glo2 facials are great for events or monthly maintenance, while Eminence facials are ideal for ongoing skin wellness.
Can I get a facial while pregnant?
Absolutely! Our Eminence Organic Facial is pregnancy-safe and deeply nourishing. Just let us know when booking so we can avoid any ingredients not recommended during pregnancy.
Should I do anything before or after my facial?
Before: Avoid exfoliating, waxing, or using strong retinoids 24 hrs prior.
After: Skip makeup for 24 hrs, avoid the gym/sauna, and let your skin absorb all the goodness!

Is permanent makeup safe?
Yes, permanent makeup is safe when performed by licensed permanent makeup artists. At EMME, we use high-quality, sterile products and follow strict hygiene protocols to minimize any risks, ensuring your comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
Does permanent makeup hurt?
Discomfort levels vary from person to person, but most clients describe it as minimal. We apply a numbing cream before the procedure to enhance comfort, and many clients find the process manageable with little to no pain.
What is the difference between microblading and shading for eyebrows?
Microblading creates fine, hair-like strokes for a natural look, making it ideal for those with sparse brows. In contrast, shading deposits pigment into the skin, resulting in an ombré, fuller, more defined appearance that resembles makeup and is suitable for all skin types.
Who is microblading and shading best suited for?
Both microshading and microblading are ideal for those with sparse or thinning brows who want a more natural look.
How long does microblading and shading typically last?

What is an eyeliner tattoo, and how long does it last?
An eyeliner tattoo is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that applies pigment along the lash line to enhance the eyes. This can range from a subtle lash enhancement to a bolder look and typically lasts 1-2 years, depending on your skin type and maintenance.
What is a lip blushing, and how long does it last?
A lip tattoo, also known as lip blush, involves applying pigment to the lips to enhance their color. The shade can range from a natural tint to a more vibrant shade. A lip tattoo generally lasts 1-2 years, with regular touch-ups helping to maintain color and shape.
Aftercare Questions
What is the aftercare for lash extensions?
- Avoid Water: Keep lashes dry for the first 12-24 hours.
- Skip Oil-Based Products: Use oil-free makeup removers and avoid products with oils around the eyes.
- Avoid Touching, Pulling, or Picking: Refrain from touching, rubbing, picking, or pulling on the lashes.
- Cleanse Gently: Use a lash cleanser every day to keep lashes clean and prevent buildup.
- Brush Daily: Gently brush lashes daily with a clean lash brush to maintain their shape.
- Eye makeup is allowed; avoid mascara. Eye makeup can be worn but mascara should be avoided. You must clean your eye area with non-oil-based products carefully to avoid damaging the extensions.
- Avoid heat/ sun exposure: Direct heat such as steam, sauna, or direct sun exposure might weak the extensions.
What is the aftercare for a keratin lash lift?
- Avoid Water: Keep lashes dry for 12-24 hours after the procedure.
- Mascara is allowed: You can wear mascara after getting a keratin lash lift to enhance the length. Please ensure to clean it carefully afterward.
What is the aftercare for brow lamination, waxing, and tinting?
- Avoid Moisture: Keep brows dry for 12-24 hours after lamination or tinting.
- Brow Makeup: Brow makeup can be worn but you have to clean it carefully to protect your brow hair.
- Brush regularly: Don't forget to brush your brows regularly to keep them in shape!
What is the aftercare for permanent makeup?
- Cleanse daily: Avoid getting the area wet for 24 hours. Don't forget to cleanse it daily to prevent build-up.
- Avoid picking: Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color.
- Apply Moisturizer or Healing Ointment: Use the recommended ointment 1-2 times daily to keep the area moisturized.
- Sun Protection: Avoid direct sun exposure for 4-6 weeks and apply sunscreen after healing to prevent fading.
- Avoid Sweating and Swimming: Refrain from heavy sweating, saunas, and swimming until fully healed (typically 10-14 days).
Appointments Questions
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments canceled/rescheduled or changed in the location less than 24 hours in advance will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee. Please review our full cancellation policy online or contact us with any questions.
*Please note that cancellation policy is also applied for same-day booking appointments.
Can I book a specific artist?
Yes, you can request a specific lash or senior lash artist when booking your appointment. For online booking, please select your favorite artist at the provider selection section. Otherwise, the system will assign you to a random lash artist with compatible availability. Please note that appointments with senior artists may incur an additional fee.
*Lash Artist Selection is not available for any New Clients Promotion.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Some services such as permanent makeup, and ultra and mega-volume lash extensions require a deposit. This deposit will be applied to your service and non-refundable if you cancel/ reschedule for less than 24 hours, or no-show to your appointments.
Are walk-ins accepted?
Walk-ins are accepted based on availability, but we highly recommend booking an appointment to ensure we can accommodate you.

What happens if I don’t use my perks for a month?
Perks will accumulate if not used within the membership period and cannot be redeemed later.
